Super simple, super impressive, super delicious. All things a perfect date night meal should be. Cook this up with your usual pantry staples -as long as vodka is one of your staples too ;)
All you need is:
150 grams Donna Pastaia Pappardelle pasta
2 cups tomato puree
1 medium/small onion finely chopped
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 cloves garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
25 ml Vodka
Salt and Pepper to taste, and cheese and herbs to serve
1. In a saucepan brown garlic and onion in olive oil for 1-2 minutes, and then add tomato puree. Cook until the tomatoes turn a darker colour and just until they start to stick to the bottom.
2. Add vodka to the saucepan and simmer on medium heat for a further 2-3 minutes.
3. Before adding cream, temper it with 2 tbsp warm water and then add to the tomato sauce. Bring everything together on medium heat, add salt and pepper and set aside.
4. Boil water in another pan, add salt to the water (1 tbsp per 1 litre), and once the water is on a rolling boil add the pasta to it. Cook for 6-7 minutes - drain and toss together with the sauce.
